Scentsy UK Convention 2011
My head has been swimming so much since I got home from theScentsy UKConvention that I haven't had time to post exactly everything that happened.
It was held in Croydon south London this year at the Selsdon Park Hotel--A lovely manor house hidden away from view. They say the place is haunted....eeek!
As it was the first ever UK Convention, there were a lot of introductions to the company. They talked about the Core Values, how to be successful (focus on creating success for others) and trends of why people join Scentsy, host, etc.
Later after lunch we were in for a real surprise. During the introductions to the new Autumn/Winter Catalogue they did giveaways. I had heard about the giveaways from my sponsor but I wasn't prepared for the extent of Scenty's generosity. Probably received close to £350-400 worth of free Scentsy product that is coming in the autumn which included new warmers, the perfumes, a Scentsy buddy (the product I'm the most excited for this autumn), business supplies including catalogues, etc It kind of felt like Christmas or an episode of Oprah's favourite things. ;)
In the evening of the first day because it was raining we had our family picnic inside. It was nice to talk to fellow consultants and get to know them all better. So many different people on different journey's all doing one goal of doing Scentsy.
If one word could describe the first day....EXCITEMENT...the Second Day would be INSPIRATION.
The Second Day we had a lot of training in being successful and running our businesses better.
In the afternoon Heidi Thompson, the President and Owner of Scentsy gave her closing speech. By the end most of us were all in tears. She talked about the power of one person to change the world and to make a difference in the lives of others. It was BEYOND inspirational.
I left early and didn't attend the awards banquet and didn't get to hear Orville Thompson, the CEO and Owner speak. Really regret not going because apparently his speech was incredibly inspirational as well (on entitlement vs gratitude) and of course more giveaways and announcements (what country we're expanding to next and where the 2012 incentive trip is).
I also didn't attend the River boat Cruise down the Thames. Never again will I leave early!!!

This post really hasn't done much justice to what it was like to attend Convention. If you read 'My Story' I wrote those feelings right after I came back and gives you a bit more idea of where I came from and where I'm hoping to go. After Convention I felt exhausted, excited, inspired, enthusiastic and motivated to make a difference. My attitudes about life and Scentsy changed completely. I knew after convention that Scentsy wasn't a coincidence coming into my life....I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders and after all these years of struggling...I knew in my heart that things were going to get better.
Yes, I know what you're thinking....all from a Convention????
You've got to find out for yourself what I'm talking about. Everyone's Scentsy journey is different and Convention will be different for you than it has been for me.
