A couple of my favourite Halloween pics from Pinterest
Growing up in the US, Halloween was always a part of my life. I went trick or treating most of my youth and got quite the candy haul every year and the sugar rushes that followed months afterwards. There's something oddly fun about once a year leaving all reality and dressing up as something we aren't. The UK celebrates with harvest festivals more here but its nice to see Halloween starting to catch on here also.
I kind of wish I had my own kids to celebrate Halloween. Making them costumes and staying up all hrs of the night trying to finish them seems like something I've missed not being a mum. I know I can create my own traditions, but still part of me feels sad I'm missing out on this special opportunity around this time of year.
I'm really not sure where this year has gone. Pretty soon it will be Thanksgiving (which I celebrate even still in London) and then Christmas. With time going by so quickly, I know I have to make the days as worthwhile and as full as I can.
The air is starting to become more crisp and cool. I love that little smell of campfire in the air that always happens this time of year too. Went for a short walk through Greenwich Park a few days ago and the leaves are starting to change. I love the colours and the stillness of it all. I also love going to the farmers market and picking out our squashes and apples and pumpkins.
